Back in July, I decided to watch every single Marvel movie ever made. Like almost every other teenage girl, I had a huge celebrity crush on Tom Holland, who plays Spider-Man, and I just had to watch the Marvel Spider-Man movies. Every guy I knew, told me I had to watch Marvel's Avengers: Endgame to watch Marvel's Spider-Man: Far From Home. BUT, in order to watch Marvel's Avengers: Endgame, I needed to watch every single Marvel movie ever made. Thus, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) quickly became my go to entertainment.
With over a decade worth of movies and TV shows, I had no idea where to start. I googled a list to watch everything Marvel in order, and found a GIANT master list. So I started from the beginning with Marvel'sIron Man. I was immediately hooked. I soon fell in love with the character of Tony Stark, and his story.
I had always thought Marvel movies were just superheroes fighting the bad guys, and I didn't see the big hype in that. I also thought that these were boy movies, and I let the stereotype keep me from watching the movies. These movies, and TV shows, are way more than just the fights between good and bad; there are love stories, and character developments, and relationships that make you fall in love with the characters, and their stories. I found myself wanting so much more.
The way these movies are made is brilliant. From the amazing CGI that makes the movie look so real, to the cliff hangers that leave you wanting more. Marvel's movies are three hours of action, love, and conflict that you won't be able to take your eyes away from. Throughout the movies, and TV Shows, I found myself laughing, and crying, and beyond invested. I never thought I would cry because of a superhero movie.
The stories produced in the movies are so top secret, the actors don't even know the full story. According to multiple interviews done by the cast members, the movie producers, and writers don't give the cast the real script so the endings are even a surprise to them! The MCU is a turning point in cinematic development.
In the end, I finally caught up to Marvel's Spider-Man: Far From Home, and saw Tom Holland be Spider-Man, but on my way to get there I fell in love with all things Marvel, and understood why the MCU is so beloved. There is a stereotype in superhero movies being for boys, but I pleasantly found out that they are not; they are for everyone.
So, next time you're looking to find a new movie to watch, maybe check out a Marvel movie, I can guarantee you'll love it.
