How I Overcame Depression and Suicidal Thoughts, Thank You God

I believe in God. He's the reason why I'm still alive. He's the reason I'd miss every time because he didn't want the devil's plan to take my time.

How I Overcame Depression and Suicidal Thoughts, Thank You God

You think you won't be missed. I once lived a life being pissed. I tried the gun, I tried the pills and I would always miss.

Why do you think I'm here today? I stopped running away. I stopped running away from my fears. I stopped running away from what was chasing me. If its' pain you feeling just know it's something I've been through.

At 16 I took a knife out and at the time felt my options ran out. I've been lied to like you being lied to right now. Every time I would look at the stairs, that voice would tell me "jump because nobody cares". Other people may not know how to help you but I know-how. If you got bullied to this point, I'm sorry you went through that but God wants to take those words from your attacker and send them back.

Stop listening to the voice that keeps saying "just do it, what are you waiting for, do it", remember you are not alone, you got a friend in me. Just take my hand and let's go on our knees. There are better days ahead of you that I hope you can begin to see.

Please don't take your life, just take my hand and we'll make this right. some people believe the lie that its best to die. I don't believe in lies. I believe in God. He's the reason why I'm still alive. He's the reason I'd miss every time because he didn't want the devil's plan to take my time. I'm here today to tell you, Please listen to this. and know. you will be missed.

Deuteronomy 30:19-20

This day I call the heavens and the earth as witnesses against you that I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses. Now choose life, so that you and your children may live 20 and that you may love the Lord your God, listen to his voice, and hold fast to him. For the Lord is your life, and he will give you many years in the land he swore to give to your fathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

Psalm 30:10-12

Hear, Lord, and be merciful to me; Lord, be my help. You turned my wailing into dancing; you removed my sackcloth and clothed me with joy, that my heart may sing your praises and not be silent. Lord my God, I will praise you forever.

Psalm 31:14-16

But I trust in you, Lord; I say, "You are my God." My times are in your hands; deliver me from the hands of my enemies,
from those who pursue me. Let your face shine on your servant;
save me in your unfailing love.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
