It's safe to say that Aries are not the most fortunate this year when it comes to birthday celebrations. Just a month ago, I was planning to do a brunch with friends and some outdoor activities for mine. When I found out the quarantine would last until past my birthday, I started brainstorming what the most productive way to spend that day would be. Every day so far, I have tried keeping my days busy by working out, cooking, doing schoolwork, and drawing on my free time. Keeping busy during these times can be hard, but it makes the days go by quicker and a little more enjoyable.
A few days ago, I came across a project called "The Sidewalk Chalk Project." The community service project was started by a woman named Madison Gardner, who was struggling with depression and anxiety, and wanted to spread happiness throughout her community by drawing and writing inspirational messages of encouragement on the sidewalk every day for nine years. In an interview, Madison further explains her goals and aspirations for this project: to emphasize suicide prevention and reminding people that they are not alone.
For my birthday, I plan on continuing this streak of sharing hopeful messages to others through sidewalk chalk as well. Especially during these unfortunate, scary times, it would remind everyone that better days are coming, and that there is still hope for a bright outcome. Even the smallest positive messages could make someone's day, or even make a difference in their life. I encourage you to try this activity when you find yourself seeking something to do as the days at home may feel monotonous.
