Trevor Noah: But didn’t you shut down your previous church only because you had 10 regular members.

“Yeah! Preach Trevor,” Nelle shouts at the TV.

Liza Daniels: I’m glad you pointed out this mistake of mine. I am human after all. Yes, I shut down a church before this but that was a factor of many things. I was going through a difficult marriage, my husband and kids were being stubborn and God had called me for bigger, better things, not just for 10 people. What good is that doing anyone?

Trevor Noah: But you just said…

Liza Daniels: And I also said that that was a difficult time in my life. I would have shut down a ten-thousand-member church at that time as the circumstances were such. But after my divorce, I felt free. I felt like now I was ready to handle the storm. I grew and as can be seen in my beautiful church and viewers and today here I am.

Hooting and clapping follows.

Trevor Noah: Don’t go anywhere we’ll be right back with Miss. Daniels and her wit…

Justin also hoots and claps. “Whoa! That was a curve ball. Hit and a miss. She’s brilliant.”

Nelle staring at the screen in silence.

Commercial break.

Trevor Noah: We’re back. As we enter the last segment of this show I wanted to ask you what motivated you or motivates you to preach the Obedience Gospel?

Liza Daniels: My life Trevor. My life is the biggest example and testimony of leading life to the fullest and blessed if you obey God. I obey God in everything I do. I could have yelled at you, walked away, cursed you for asking me those questions earlier…

Trevor Noah: I was asking them Ma’am only because they’re important to me and my viewers on where the calling of your children the devil stands…

Liza Daniels: Shows the quality of your viewers over mine.

“Oh dang! Now that was bold.” Justin cheers.

“God Justin, can you stop cheering for her and acting like this is one of your reality bitchy TV shows.”

Trevor Noah: Hahaha! But my viewers wanted to know you, the woman behind the stage, behind the microphone.

Liza Daniels: Well Trevor, the woman behind and on the stage and the microphone are one and the same. I have no secrets. I have laid it all bare in front of my people and now I do the same in front of yours as well. We are all the children of God after all. Know this Noah, no one, no one can hide from the eyes of God.

Trevor Noah: Yes Ma’am. Any closing lines for us?

Liza Daniels: Yes, obey God and God will bless you. Obedience equals rewards. God bless you and your show Trevor.

Trevor Noah: Thank you Miss. Daniels. Thank you everyone for…

The closing music plays as Trevor and Liza are seen shaking hands and talking between themselves.

Justin switches off the channel, looking at the back of Nelle’s head who was still pacing, “So? Let it out, what are you thinking?”

Nelle heading back, “Nothing. Sometimes it amazes me that I’m HER daughter you know. I mean we’re nothing alike.”

“I’ll say. Why else do you think I like watching her on TV?”

“To irritate and taunt me.”

“Those are just fringe benefits…”

Silence.

“It’s just interesting you know to see HER and then… YOU,” he continues.

“What do you mean by that?”

“We’ve been roommates for what, a year now? I still feel like I don’t know you.”

“That’s because you don’t know me Justin. I don’t see any harm there. We don’t have to know everything about each other.”

“Forget everything. I feel like I know you less now than I did on the first day we met.”

“Can you stop making a big deal out of this? This, this is why I don’t involve family, least of all my mother.” Nelle starts pacing again.

“You know everything about me.” He continues, ignoring her pacing.

“Everything?”

“Yes, everything.”

“Wow! That less huh?” She laughs as she tries to lighten the mood.

Justin keeps quiet.

Too quiet that it becomes eerie.

“Okay. Can you stop being a baby and just ask me what it is you want to know?” She stops and looks at Justin.

“Why is your last name Peter and not Daniels?”

“Really? You couldn’t figure that out?... It’s because after the divorce she took up her maiden name while I retained mine as I did not divorce my dad you see because that would be too…”

“Okay, okay, stop patronizing me.”

Nelle continues to walk up and down, this time slower than before “What’s there to eat? I’m hungry.”

“Why don’t you talk to your mom?”

“There’s last night’s lasagna isn’t there? I’m going to heat some up. Do you want some or…”

“Is it because she calls you devil? She’s doing that as a propaganda move Nelle. She means no harm.”

The sound of the microwave heating the lasagna fills the silence. Justin jumps out of the couch and goes to see her in the kitchen looking at her phone.

“Listen. She’s still your mom and she still loves you…”

“Buh Buh Buh. I’m going to stop you right there before our friendship dies and one of us ends up homeless.”

“Fine. Fine. Consider it dropped.” Justin resigns and goes back to the couch.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
