January has become National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month. It is a time where we can take a stand against human trafficking and learn more about how we can help to educate others to end slavery.
Human trafficking is a worldwide problem and occurs in the United States more than people think. We as a community need to take the time to learn how to recognize and report possible human trafficking. The modern-day slave trade is one of the fastest growing industries in the world. This month is a time of awareness for the 27+ million people who are trapped in slavery.
On January 11th, you can participate in the Blue Campaign's "Wear Blue Day" where individuals are showing their support to survivors of human trafficking and to help spread awareness about this worldwide issue. To learn more about this campaign click here.
