We all do it. I do it. Celebrities do it. The President of the United States does it. Even animals are learning how to do it. What is the crazy action I could be talking about? Selfies!

'Selfie' is a coined term in our generation, and it's use has become more prominent as time has gone on. Now, don't get me wrong, selfies are fun. There's no better way to document cute makeup, a fun time, or a cool experience. But I have to admit, selfies have gotten quite...interesting the last few months. Some of the poses that are deemed "up and coming" and the "go-to" poses are remarkable, that's for sure. So I've decided to show you my impression of, what I whole-heartedly believe to be, the 11 best selfie poses to maximize your "like" count on the 'gram.

1. The T-Rex Claw

With a rather odd name, this pose is the go-to for celebrities such as Gigi Hadid, Shay Mitchell, and Zendaya. This pose is simple; just place your hand somewhere around your face! This is a great pose to show off a fabulous mani or some cute rings. Here is my rendition of the "T-Rex Claw."

2. The Casual Glance Down to Show Off My Eye Makeup

A classic, natural pose to show off your eye makeup that you spent an extremely long time doing. Naturally, this pose is very popular amongst makeup artists. Here is me doing the "Casual Glance Down."

3. The Puppy Face Filter

Snapchat has recently become utterly notorious since its addition of filters. These filters are plentiful, and one that is definitely one of the most popular is the puppy face. It's adorable, no denying it. There's isn't anything quite like becoming an animal. Here's me as a puppy dog.

4. Flower Crown

There's another filter that has become popular with Snapchatters everywhere, and it's the flower crown filter. Nothing says "I'm a hipster" quite like a flower crown selfie, right? Here's me being a total ~hipster~.

5. The Duck Face

The duck face is classic, iconic, and has became a selfie staple since it first started coming around about 4 years ago. Celebrities everywhere has utilized the "duck face" as a way of showing their funny side and that "they're normal people too". I've posted my fair share of duck faces, and while I'm not proud of it, I think that if you rock it, then keep on keepin' on my good friends.

6. The Face Swap

The Face Swap, brought to you courtesy of none other than Snapchat, is a fun, but a little creepy on the occasion filter where two people stand with their faces next to each other, and their faces are, well, swapped! You can always see some of the absolutely hilarious results if you were to look them up, but mine tend to be a little more on the creepy side.

7. The Doc Holliday

Another one brought to you by Snapchat, I'm not actually 100 percent positive that this filter is supposed to be the iconic Doc Holliday, but that's what it reminds me of, so we're going with it! The Western era is my grandpa's favorite, and this filter helps me to see why. Look how rugged and tough it makes me look! -insert winking face-

8. The Bearded Man

No shocker here, Snapchat has done it again with the Bearded Man. My family and I have this understanding that my dad and I look the exact same (daddy's girl, what can I say?), and I look EXACTLY like him when I use this filter. So maybe this is my impression of my dad if he was into selfie culture as much as me.

9. The Pet Selfie

love my cats, and I especially love my cat Puddles. She is my life and my love, and I love getting selfies with her when she allows me. Pet selfies are the best selfies, and I think I'll stick by that for the rest of my life.

10. Me and Bae

Puddles isn't my only bae, I also like to pose with random objects because boys are the furthest thing from my mind right now. This technically constitutes as a selfie right?

11. The Classic Smile

To finish up the ~best~ selfie poses to maximize your 'gram game, I finish with the classic smile. Everyone has a beautiful smile, and I think that you can't go wrong with showing off those pearly whites.

Selfies rock, there's no denying. We all love to feel good and we love to show off, and that's what I love about #selfieculture. So instead of hating on everyone, let's give everyone the freedom to post whatever they want whenever they want. And these poses are guaranteed to get you likes. Let's get to selfies!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
