Times can get tough and things can change in the blink of an eye. It can be really hard adapting to those changes, and it can really suck when it blindsides you. In these times, it can be really hard to adjust and to get your bearings to be able to move forward with your life. Here are a few things to do in the moment when you're not sure how to adjust.
1. Go for a drive
Hop in your car and go for a drive. Make it as long or as short as you want. Turn on the radio and blast some tunes, or roll the windows down and breathe in some fresh air. Either way, just get in your car and go. The open road opens up your mind and a world of possibilities.
2. Take a bubble bath
Grab a book, open a bottle of wine and just soak. It's a weird thing, sitting in a warm bath with bubbles all around you, but it really helps you to relax and let the worry slip away. Once that happens, you can plan your next move with a relaxed mind.
3. Color
Okay, this one sounds a little weird because you're not five, but coloring can be so therapeutic and such a mindless activity that it'll help you put everything into perspective. It can help get those creative juices flowing and actually help you plan your next move so that you're ready to take on what's next.
4. Call your favorite person
We all have that one person to talk to - or sometimes it's your pet that you ramble on to - that just knows how to make it better. Call them. When you're world gets turned upside down, don't shy away from the ones who lift you up. You'll need it now more than ever, and they'll be there for you because they love you no matter what.
5. Go to the pet store and look at the puppies
This one sounds ridiculous, but seriously, there's nothing that will turn a stressful situation around like looking at some adorable puppies. Don't necessarily adopt one if you're in a stressful situation, but looking at them and petting them won't hurt.
There's a ton you can do to make yourself feel better. Just make sure to find the thing that helps you the most and get you through the rough time.
