How To Take Yourself On A Date
tannilovesyou.com

There’s nothing like going on a date with the person who knows you better than you know yourself -- you.

Step 1: Take out your phone and dial your house number. Leave this message, “Hey, you. It’s me. Just wanted to call and say that I can’t wait for tonight, beautiful. I love you.”

Step 2: Go to your local supermarket and pick up your favorite snacks like Doritos, Cheetos or Fritos. Some other ideas include an artisanal spread of cheese, Ben & Jerry’s Half Baked ice cream, Ferrero Rocher hazelnut chocolates, Skittles or Hot Pockets. Do not forget to get a bottle of rose (if it is still the right weather), white or red wine -- or a bottle of each if you cannot decide.

Step 3: Stop by Yankee Candle or Bath & Body Works and purchase three seasonally scented candles.

Step 4: Go home.

Step 5: Check your home voicemail and notice that there is one from someone who is excited to spend time with you this evening.

Step 6: Prepare a nest of pillows and blankets on a comfy couch or your bed, anywhere near a television. If you have a spare rose, carefully sprinkle some petals over the nest. Place the candles near the nest, within smelling distance but not too close so as not to kick them over and start a potential fire. Grab a box of matches or a lighter, light the candles, and waft.

Step 7: Break open whatever food you picked up and spread it out on a platter. Next, grab a bottle opener and get the wine flowing.

Step 8: Put on your most comfortable, fluffy pajamas.

Step 9: Wash your hands. You should always wash your hands to get rid of germs.

Step 10:
Grab your laptop and an HDMI cord. Plug the cord into your computer and the TV. Open up Netflix or the streaming service of your choice. Browse the romance section, then comedy, then drama -- any section besides faith and spirituality, or anime (unless you are into that). Narrow down the two films you are choosing between by playing eenie meanie minie mo. Start the movie.

Step 11: Place yourself in the nest so that you are kicked back and relaxed but are within reaching distance of the food. Tip: Put away your cellular device so that you can give yourself the most attention. Many people find it rude to be preoccupied on a phone while on a date.

Step 12: When finished with the film, finish off the remaining snacks. Then tell yourself what a great time you had and that you should do this again sometime.

Step 13: Do it again sometime.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
