How To Save Money Holiday Shopping

With the holiday season, comes holiday shopping. There are sales galore throughout stores and online but how do you know if it’s a good sale?

First off, use Ebates for all your holiday shopping. This is a wonderful sales tool. You get cash back on a ton of sites that you regularly shop for. Go to ebates.com, find the site you want to shop at and it will redirect you to that web page. Then just do your shopping and the cash back will automatically be credited to your account. It’s that easy. I have used this site and it is a reliable source of money. They will send you a check when you request it with the balance that is in your account. If you want to score some extra cash back use this code to register: https://www.ebates.com/r/FHSTAR5?eeid=28187. The email referral is: fhstar96@aol.com

Secondly, make sure you do your research. Don’t buy the first sale that you see. If you know there Is a certain product that you want, shop around. There are thousands of retailers worldwide that would love to sell their product. Some offer special incentives to buy from them. Whether it is a lower sale price, price matching, a rewards program for their store, etc. There are countless opportunities to save money if you look around. Pull up all the major retailer’s web pages and plug in the model of the product you are looking for. This will give you the best idea of where to buy.

Third, utilize email alerts from companies. Certain retailers will email you their deal of the day or the ad for the week. If you keep up on these you may know ahead of time when to buy your product. If you are not sure if the product is a good deal, do some research on the retailer’s price match policy. You can always buy the product and return it later if needed or price match it to another retailer.

Lastly, Black Friday and Cyber Monday can be your best friends. These companies plan year-round for these 2 days. Although they are not as big as they used to be, you can still find some great deals. The ads are published online a few weeks before so that you can plan your trips. You don’t even need to leave the comfort of your own home if you don’t want to. I do all of my Christmas shopping online so I don’t have to face the crowds. Don’t forget that there are other sites to help save you money. Don’t be afraid to search for coupons for online or in store. They can score you extra discounts you didn’t know about beforehand. There are also sites like LivingSocial and Groupon that you can use to score you some neat savings. Whether you buy a Groupon for yourself or others it can help save you money especially if you wait for a deal day!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
