On November 8, 2016 one of the greatest losses in the history of American politics took place.
Hilary Clinton - former Secretary of State, once a First Lady, an inspirational female with over 35 years of activity within the field of politics was challenged by a Republican self-publicist and real-estate king. On a balanced scale this battle of two titans seemed fairly one-sided and at times even tedious for the democratic candidate. Whilst Donald Trump was continuously being exposed by the liberal media for his unorthodox sayings and overwhelming achievements Hilary Clinton was relishing the flood of public praise and corporate donations.
Clearly until the last vote was counted odds were against the leader of the new worldwide populist movement. So how did the more qualified, experienced candidate lose to a prominent business magnate in one of the most heated races for the presidential seat?
Here is a 4 step guide on how to not win an election.
Step 1: Speak in a technical yet monotonous way.
Step 2: Emphasize privilege.
Step 3: Build a wall between yourself and rural America.
Step 4: Fade away from economic issues, thus contradicting the whole platform of supporting disadvantaged minority groups.
As an admirable orator and politically correct intellectual Hilary Clinton won the votes of the liberal coasts. Demographically speaking such a campaign could win you a seat in Congress, a seat in the Senate, but not a seat in the Oval Office. As far as I know it’s the United States of America not the United Coasts of Leftism.
On a more serious note, you can no longer divide and rule. From a sociological perspective Trump’s simple, at times lacking cohesion, public messages united those who spoke his language. Memorized speeches and teleprompters are not something the average American will appreciate as the highest form of oratorical skill and grandiloquent charisma.
Now look around the corner, the 2020 elections are right there on a pedestal. So instead of focusing on a minor social crisis and transgender bathrooms, focus on the American people – of all ages, all races, all religions and all two genders. Making America Great Again does not involve the promotion of a nationalistic, fascist agenda – it involves the election of an ideologically committed, rational and patriotic leader. Theoretically, the Democrats are more than capable of achieving such.
