Shimmering Christmas lights are sweetly strung across doorways and swirled around the gnarly bark of wise trees, cascading over the houses that they quietly watch over, a veil of twinkling and sparkling lights. Hung at every doorway is a spectacular reef with a big pompous red bow. The smell of evergreen and the after taste of hot chocolate smoldered in melted marshmallows fills the Holiday air as carolers move door to door to spreading the Christmas cheer. Families gather around their fireplaces on a peaceful Christmas Eve, the children wide-eyes with excitement to get to open a few presents before the joys of Christmas morning. This is what I see during Christmas: the joy of spending time with your loved ones. Of course I would love to mention the marvelous sight of snowflakes drizzling down from the clouds, adding to the mounds of snow snuggling us up into our house for the Holidays, but I live in the ever humid lands of Texas. Now and then it gets very cold but rare enough for it to snow. However that does not prevent my sister and I from acting like were consumed in the winter wonderlands of New York. You can easily have a Winter Wonderland photoshoot without snow. It's all about the outfit and makeup. Read on to find out how you can have your own Winter Wonderland photoshoot!
1) Glitter.
Glitter that sparkles and glistens on the skin is the closest thing that resembles snow flurries. I recommend getting a variety of sizes of pearly white to snowy blue colored glitter. Use Vaseline by applying this to the areas on your face and body where you want to pour the glitter. It helps with the stick and makes the glitter shimmer with even more brilliance.
2) Sparkling branches and evergreen crowns!
To add a fanciful sense to your Winter Wonderland photoshoot and keeping it still with the Christmas theme make a crown out of anything for you to wear on your head! From the plants growing outside or (what I recommend) buying something from Michael's, all you need is to twist the plants together or wrap wire around them to form the crown. Then take bobby pins and pin in your hair! Be creative, you can make crowns out of everything. You can be a Christmas woodland fairy wandering the cool winter wonderlands or a glamorous eskimo.
3) Fuzzy and furry jackets.
4) White paint.
You can easily incorporate the white paint with glitter. What I did that I thought was really cool is if you paint your lips with white paint and then put glitter on top. It makes you look even more like a character from a fantasy book!
5) Location wise, if your in my situation and without snow you can always easily opt for a white background (take with flash one)! With just one snap you can take a photo Glamour worthy!
