A How To Guide To Friendsgiving

So it's Thanksgiving week and you can't wait to enjoy a delicious dinner with your family. Your friends are also home for break so you make it apparent to see them. As we all know, Thanksgiving is a time to be thankful so why not go round two on the turkey and hold a Friendsgiving! A Thanksgiving celebration dedicated to you and your best friends!

The first step to Friendsgiving is to well, find some friends. After you've located your dream team figure out a date and time for this occasion. I like to make mine close to thanksgiving for example over that weekend so everyone is in the spirit and available. Plus you can never eat too much Thanksgiving dinner.

Next decide how you want your dinner to work. Usually since I host, I'll provide the turkey and ask my friends to contribute some sides. Mashed potatoes, green beans, stuffing, rolls, carrots, dessert. Tip: make sure you know what each friend is bringing before the dinner. So you don't end up with 10 pounds of mashed potatoes and no stuffing!

Another part of Friendsgiving you don't want to forget is entertainment. Maybe you'll have a Christmas movie marathon, or play a bunch or board games. My friends and I usually pick secret Santa at this occasion as well. Just make sure while you're all waiting for that dinner to cook you have something fun to do in the mean time.

Before you know it you'll be holding your first annual Friendsgiving! A time filled with friends, happiness, and lots of laughs. Make sure you take lots of pictures so you can cherish these memories for ever! I've made this a tradition at my house and maybe it will become one for you too and you'll continue it on year after year!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
