How To Get Engineering Recruitment Right

Whether you are looking to recruit a temporary team for a project with an upcoming deadline, or you need fresh young talent to keep up your commitment to innovation, a robust strategy is a must. Presumably, you want to save time and money as you put a plan in place for getting talent on your team. If you have made the executive decision to involve an engineering recruitment agency but have never used this service before, we have some tips for getting it right first time.

See a Specialist

Recruitment agencies are surplus and show no signs of diminishing in quantity, but your main focus here is quality. That is to say, the quality of the service they can provide – and the best quality recruitment for your purpose will arise from working with a specialist engineering recruitment agency that has first-hand knowledge of the industry.

Better yet, secure a working relationship with an agency that has a minimum of 10 years’ experience in placing first-rate candidates in similar roles to the field you are recruiting for. Ultimately, you want knowledge mixed with experience from your recruitment agency.

Be Transparent

If you are still uncertain about this particular recruitment agency, convey any doubts. While you might fear getting bamboozled by a sales pitch, you have to trust your gut with the agency you have selected and place your trust in their services. If their recruitment style has worked for numerous other companies, it can work for you too. But it is important to convey all the information they need to know because they are the experts.

Take Their Advice

It sounds obvious; however it can be a hard pill to swallow for the person who wasn’t 100% keen to involve a third party in the hiring process. Every company has a set way of doing things but to keep evolving and get the best talent on your team, you need to take on board the advice the experts have to say.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
