Many people associate cooking with being a hassle, time-consuming, and in the end just a lot of work. However, there is so much joy, creativity, and happiness found in cooking. I have not always been a big fan of cooking, but over this past year, I have found my bliss for cooking.

These 5 tips I have listed below have helped me learn to enjoy cooking and now it is something I look forward too. Read through and maybe they will help you as well.

1. Music or podcasts:

This is an easy tip and will make cooking more peaceful and entertaining. Next time you are cooking pick out your favorite genre of music or a podcast you’ve been dying to listen to and play it while you are cooking. Being in the kitchen for an hour will allow you to listen to music or a podcast you might not have had any other time for.

2. Surround yourself with friends:

To put it plain and simple cooking can be boring, especially by yourself. Spending an hour or so in the kitchen alone can be tedious. Instead of meeting family and friends out for dinner, plan a meal that you can cook together and invite them over. Enjoy cooking, talking, and bonding together.

3. Stay Organized:

This is a VERY important tip. Staying organized while cooking will make the whole process easier and more enjoyable. There will be less chaos. So have the recipes you are using accessible, and make sure you have the correct ingredients, measurements, and cooking equipment out and ready on hand when you need it.

4. Prep:

Before you start cooking, make a list of every ingredient and the amount you are going to need. Hit the grocery store before you start so you don’t have to run out for a last minute ingredient.

5. Wine or Fun Appetizers:

If you know you are going to have friends over, set out appetizers, nothing hard or something you have to cook. Just something like chips and dip or fruit and cheese, and pour a glass of wine and enjoy cooking!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
