Hybrid lash extensions are the hottest trend on Instagram right now, and they're fantastic! These extensions mix classic and volume lashes, giving you the best of both worlds. They're unique and relaxed but also easy to wear because they feel super light on your natural lashes! I am so excited about hybrid lash extensions that I had to put together this guide that will show you how to do them yourself if you don't have access to or can't afford professional services.
Preparation
Hybrid lash extensions are a great way to add length, volume, and thickness to natural lashes. You can apply them at home or visit a salon for professional application.
Hybrid lashes are applied using two techniques: strip lash application or individual lash application. Strip lash applications involve attaching a strip of false lashes onto the client's natural lash line with adhesive. Individual lash applications require that each false eyelash be attached by hand one at a time, usually starting from the outer corner of the eye and working towards the nose.
Before applying any adhesive, ensure your hands are clean and free from oils and lotions! To remove any residue from your hands, use rubbing alcohol or soap and water before you start.
Natural Lashes
Hybrid lash extensions are an excellent option for clients who want the length and volume of a complete set of lashes but not the maintenance. You can combine them with another technique, such as lash perming or eyelash tinting if you're targeting specific issues.
Generally, hybrid lashes are applied using a silicone-based adhesive that is safer for your eyes and won't irritate your skin like traditional lash glue. Another advantage is that it's easier to remove at the end of your appointment without messy residue!
Lash Extensions
Hybrid lash extensions are the perfect solution for busy women. With these extensions, you can wear your natural lashes during the day and add lashes for a more dramatic look at night. Plus, our lashes guide will show you how to do them!
Applying the Glue
To apply the glue, you will want to put a small amount on the back of your hand. Next, dip the extensions into it and wait 10 seconds until they are covered in glue. Then, apply them to your lash line from root to tip. Remember that if you are using these lashes on top of your natural lashes, then make sure not to put too much pressure, or you will risk tugging out some of your natural lashes. If you are applying these lashes underneath your natural ones, then be careful not to let the glue touch any part of your skin because this can cause an allergic reaction which is very uncomfortable and takes a long time to heal.
Letting the Glue Dry
Hybrid lashes are a mix of individual and strip lashes. They generally last longer than strip lashes and are more natural-looking than individual lashes. Individual lash extensions start at $60 for a set of 10, whereas strip lash extensions start at $25 per strip. The cost is one consideration among many when deciding which type of lash extension to have done. This post will cover the steps involved in applying hybrid lashes and provide helpful tips for getting the most out of your experience.
Applying the Lashes
Hybrid lash extensions are a combination of individual lashes and strip lashes. They are applied in three steps:
- You will apply individual lashes to the entire lid up to the crease of your eye.
- You will use strips on the outer corners of your eyes and along your lower lash line.
- Apply strips on top of your upper lashes for an enhanced look.
Finishing Up
Hybrid lash extensions are a mix of synthetic and mink lashes that can last up to six weeks. Your lash technician will first apply the artificial eyelash, then add a few strands of mink lashes. The difference in the lashes is that the synthetic ones are clumpy, while the mink ones are soft and delicate. They might even feel like your own lashes when you touch them.
