5 Ways To Deal With Post Spring Break Depression

I think we can all agree that Spring Break is the main highlight of the spring semester. It is definitely the much needed rest you deserve, regardless of where you go.

Unfortunately, everything good eventually comes to an end and Spring Break is no different. You are away from college for a full week and it is easy to forget about responsibilities, so it is no surprise that when you come back it is hard to get used to the fast pace of your daily life. While you procrastinate, you also day dream about going back to wherever you went and relive the adventures/experiences. This is when Post Spring Break Depression kicks in.

Here are some ways you can deal with post Spring Break depression.

1. Plan something fun with your friends for the weekend after SB

I go to UT, so most students get really excited about Roundup, which is when fraternities throw huge parties and bring amazing performers. If you don’t like to party, it would be cool to go out for dinner or plan a picnic with friends.

2. Detox

I don’t know about you, but I came back from Spring Break dehydrated and tired. I believe there is nothing better than some green and ginger tea to make you feel like new.

3. Treat yourself (your skin specifically)

There is nothing more satisfying than getting some face masks and lotions from Target or CVS. Most people come back sunburnt, so taking care of your skin is super important. This not only helps you feel good on the outside, but on the inside too.

4. Sleep

If you come back feeling like you haven’t slept in ages, rest! It is difficult to be productive if you don’t get enough hours of sleep. You might have to sacrifice going out/chilling on the weekend, but your body will thank you.

5. Create Spotify Playlists

These might cheer you up and motivate you to do homework and study.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
