Celebrate Valentine’s Day Without A Significant Other

It's more than just a day for couples.

There’s no reason to dread the upcoming holiday. There are definitely people who get too mushy and those that think it’s a day strictly for couples. Nevertheless, there is a multitude of other ways you can get into the spirit of Valentine’s Day without a boyfriend or girlfriend.

1. Galentine’s day dinner

Celebrate with your girlfriends! Honestly, I went to a Galentine’s Day dinner with my friends last year and had a ton of fun. You don’t need a significant other when you’re surrounded by friends and having a good time. Get dinner, maybe watch a movie and have a wine night.

2. Secret Cupid

Basically Secret Santa but Valentine’s Day version. Everyone buys a Valentine’s Day themed gift and exchanges with one another. You get amazing chocolates or an edible arrangement and have a fun time with friends: a win-win situation.

3. Spa day

Going and getting facials and massages sound like heaven. There’s no better way to relax with friends than going to the spa. You can even go with your best friend and get a “couples” massage for the full experience, even without the significant other.

4. Go on a trip

You can go with family or friends to a hotel a couple of hours away or that glamorous cabin getaway for a long weekend or a day trip. Check out that winery you’ve always wanted to try or do something daring like skydiving.

5. Movie marathon

Pick out your favorites, make dinner, and snuggle up with popcorn and some friends. Have fun making a lavish dinner and staying in. Watch rom-coms because ~Valentine’s Day~ or do the complete opposite and have a scary movie feature. Whatever floats your boat, a good night is always a good time.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
