As someone who has recently been watching loads of Netflix, well actually, what else do I do with my life? While I'm doing homework, making dinner, doing the dishes, cleaning my room, Netflix is usually on the television and I am watching intently. Now how I just started does not sound like it is very good English, so let me start again.
As someone who has recently been watching loads of Netflix, I've come up with a beautiful checklist of how to binge watch Netflix properly. And no, the binge watching does not have to just be a single show (currently for me it is the fifth season of Once Upon A Time), it does include hours upon hours of watch time.
Food
You need sustenance. Crying over heartbreaks, deaths, and your favorite couple finally getting together is exhausting work. Popcorn is a good option. My go-to has been freeze pops and watermelon. So really anything that you enjoy eating and eating a lot of is a good food to bring to the couch with you.
Comfort
If you are uncomfortable, you do not get as much out of the experience. Make that bed of pillows on the couch or on your bed. Bring your favorite blanket to wrap up in. You are not going anywhere for a while, better get prepared now.
Breaks
Only break for getting more food and the bathroom. Come on now, don't you want to see what happens when that certain guy is in danger and the heroes are trying to save him and everything is intense? (Trying not to give spoilers here, bear with me) Plan those breaks. Episode done? Go, go, go! Bathroom, done! Snacks, done! Back to couch/bed and watch some more. If it is movies you are binge watching, break between movies.
Time
Sadly, binge watching takes a lot of your time. If you would like to make as much time as possible to binge watch, sleep as little as possible. But I don't recommend that. You then get cranky because you haven't had enough sleep and when anyone tries to tell you to go to bed you just get really mad and try and cast a curse on them.
Now stop reading this article and get watching!
