How to Bid Farewell to Snow

How to Bid Farewell to Snow

The extended winter that we here in Evanston were ~blessed~ with, is finally coming to an end. I know what you're thinking. "Wait... now what?" Not to worry! Here are some excellent ways to bid farewell to the snow.

1. Clean out your closet!

Throw that Canada Goose under the bed and say GOODBYE! You won't be needing that anymore. Instead, go into your storage bins and bust out the shorts, the tank tops, and the SANDALS! (Well, maybe keep the pants in your closet just in case.) But seriously, this is the best way to get ready for the warmth ahead. Maybe even bust out the bathing suits if you're feeling daring. Show off those pastels!

2. Go for running/biking/roller blading/walking/etc. on the lakefill!

It's B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L over there. If you haven't gone to the lakefill yet... well, now you know what you're doing tomorrow. Go at sunrise, go during the day, or even go at night. It's beautiful 24/7. Plus, the lakefill is the new social scene. People can be found playing frisbee, guitar... there are even puppies running around! It's seriously the best. We have a beach on campus you guys, don't be stupid. Use it.

A WHOLE NEW WOOOOOOOORRRRRLLLLLLDDDDDD

3. Get your DARTY on!

GUYS IT'S DARTY SEASON, SO GET EXCITED! Every weekend, there's a darty going on. #GoNorthwestern. Get those cute spring clothes out and grab a nice pair of shades. Celebrate the warmth with your friends and turn the f**k up. We have a limited time for this, guys. Darty every weekend until the darty of all darties... DILLO (T-41 days)!!!!

4. Go to Chicago!

There's no better time than the time you'll have in the Windy City. You don't have to trek to the train station anymore guys! It's a nice, breezy stroll to the L and before you know it, you're at the Chicago River in all its spring glory. Do some shopping, see the sites! It's three thousand times better now that the snow is out of our lives.

5. Ask your teacher to have class outside!

Honestly, just ask. They might surprise you. I've had 3 classes outside already.

WHAT IF IT'S THIS BEAUTIFUL OUTSIDE BUT YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW IT CAUSE YOU'RE STUCK INSIDE?!?!?!?!?!

GO OUTSIDE.

It is that time of year again. Christmastime. It is one of my favorite seasons for a myriad of reasons. Here are just a few reasons why I love Christmas. This list is in no order of importance.

1. The Christmas decorations

I am that person who will decorate directly after Thanksgiving is over. This year, my roommates and I put the tree up in our apartment before we even left for Thanksgiving break. It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.

Mistakes are something we all make, no matter how old we get. Most of the time, the mistakes we made are little and sometimes due to something out of our control. Yet, there are mistakes that are bigger than others. Personally, I have mistakes that I wish I could go back and undo. Here they are:

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
