How To Actually Accomplish Your Goals

It is easy to say you hope to do something. Getting it done however, can be a different story. Whether it is a short-term or long term-goal its time to work towards it. Hopefully these steps will help you in doing so.

1. Figure out what you want to do

The first step of course is identifying what is that you are hoping to accomplish. Is it making an A on your next biology test? Or having a better GPA than you did the previous semester? What you hope to accomplish is not limited to just academics despite being in college where it seems like classes and work from it consumes your daily life. You could be hoping to go exercise more. Got to find a way to keep off the Freshmen 15 or just any unnecessary additional weight. Or maybe you're hoping to create a better balance between work and play.

2. Identify whether or not it seems achievable

Now its time to determine if your goal is achievable. Most likely if it is something you are really committed to getting done it can happen. Consider what resources you have available to you that will help you in reaching your goal. Maybe what you need to do to make better grades, is go to additional education services provided by your university to help students better understand material covered in classes.

3.Make a plan, and make it as specific as possible

You have set a goal, and you have determined that is indeed achievable. Now you must make a plan, and the more specific, the better it will be. Going off of the making goal of having a higher GPA, maybe your plan will include going to tutoring as well as designating time each day to study material covered in each of your classes. As it has been said before, life is a balancing act. So setting aside time each day to get what you need done, will reduce stress and worry about when you will get everything done.

4.Keep going

Of course there will be times where we want to give up. But, we cannot just give up. Instead, what we are struggling with should be viewed as another challenge. The challenges we face will push us, and once they have been overcome make the satisfaction of reaching our set goals even sweeter.

5.Celebrate

Celebrate. Whether you are at the end of what you have accomplished, or have only completed one step in an extensive goal that will take years to come. It is important to celebrate and reflect on the progress you have made. As well as remain expectant as to what is to come.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
