Finals suck.

Taking finals is one thing. But passing finals is a whole other ball game.

1. All your finals…

The thing is you can not stop thinking about all your finals. Even when you try they are still coming around and haunting you.

2. Under loads of work.

Feel dead, but never can actually “die” because you have way too much to do. So you got to live and power thru.

3. When trying to finish a final paper.

When you only have editing left and you are just trying to care, but you can’t. Like nap time over editing a paper any day.

4. When your friend tells you that they only have one final.

You are automatically the most hated friend. Having one final will not win you any love from your friends. Instead, they will be continuously complaining about how you only have one. Lucky you.

5. When studying tries to kill you… but your grade actually does.

The studying tries to test your limits. However, the teacher sends the final grade and that is what actually kills you.

6. When two of your finals are on the same day.

Thanks, teachers! Thank you for coordinating my misery!

7. My teacher’s thought about my final

Misery loves company. My teacher is going to hate grading my finals and I am going to take taking them. So why do we bother with them? To prove we learned stuff throughout the year? You could just ask me and instead, I would make a list of topics.

8. When parents receive your final grades…

Self-explanatory.

9. When the teacher says it’s unlikely to get above an 70.

Then you are three problems into the test and realize that is unlikely to get above a 60. In this moment you decided your new challenge is getting a passing grade.

10. When you know the answer to the first problem.

Good. At least I can say I got at least one question right. So if my parents ask I did not completely fail because one is better than none right?

11. When you’re the first one to finish finals

Celebrating because you are the only one done and finished with your finals.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.
