How Seniors Want to Answer Your Questions

Being on the other side is much, much harder.

How Seniors Want to Answer Your Questions

If second semester seniors were allowed to speak their minds, there'd be a lot more honesty, sass, and indecisiveness in their answers.

Do you know what you want to do after graduation?
Yes, I do. I want to find a job in a big city and have a dog that has his/her own famous Instagram account. But that doesn’t mean my revised resume (for the eighth time) isn’t being rejected and I lack professional networking.

Do you have a job?
No, I don’t. Nor do I know what I want to do with my life. You really don’t change much from freshman year to senior year — your anxiety will only increase as you google jobs and the cost of living in your future city.

Where are you going to graduate school?
Nowhere, because A) I am absolutely over classes or B) because I don’t find out if I am accepted until March. But until then, I’ll drink my vodka sodas and pretend that everything is fine.

What do you like the most about being in a sorority?
Well, it’s definitely not the matching outfits, chanting, or cheering. It’s really for the close knit friends that’ll watch Desperate Housewives with you and won’t judge you for sobbing at Parenthood’s series finale. Actually, it’s for having friends that’ll accept you when you’re eating pizza at 2 a.m.

What I truly like about being in a sorority is having friends that won’t judge you. Instead, they’ll join you on your devious adventures and take photos for the memories.

Are you excited for graduation?
Do I want to leave all of my friends that will be sporadically placed across the nation in four months? So that I can move to a big city and file for unemployment? Am I excited to live in a world where that isn’t acceptable? No, no I am not.

Is that an engagement ring?
Yes it is. Yes you can see it. No, you cannot judge me for being engaged at such a young and trying age. But you can let me talk about my perfect fiancé.

Oh, to be a freshman again.

beer on the beach

Summer is hot and humid, and it's almost like summer was made specifically to drink the refreshing, cold, crisp wonderful, delicious, nutritious nectar of the gods. Which is none other than beer; wonderful cold beer. With summer playing peek-a-boo around the corner while we finish up this semester, it's time to discuss the only important part of summer. And if you haven't already guessed, it's beer. There are few things I take more seriously than my beer, in order are: sports... and beer. Here are my favorite summer brews:

Bruce Springsteen's Top 7 Lyrics

Everything Bruce says in his classic rock songs.

bruce springsteen album cover born in the usa

Anyone who was born and raised in New Jersey (or anywhere really) knows of Bruce Springsteen, whether or not they like him is a whole other situation. I hope that his hundreds of classic rock songs and famous high energy performances, even in his sixties he can put on better concerts than people half his age, are at least recognizable to people of all ages. Love him or hate him (I identify with the former) you have to admit that some of his songs and interviews have inspirational quotes and lyrics.

New England Summers Are The BEST Summers

Why you should spend your next summer in New England.

Marconi Beach

Three years ago, I chose to attend college in Philadelphia, approximately 360 miles away from my small town in New Hampshire. I have learned many valuable lessons away from home, and have thoroughly enjoyed my time spent in Pennsylvania. One thing that my experience has taught me, however, is that it is absolutely impossible to beat a New England summer.

You cannot beat the beach. Believe it or not (which many people may not), New England has a long and beautiful coastline. Most of my high school summers were spent sitting on the Wall at Hampton Beach, getting sunburnt and eating Acai bowls from The Secret Spot. The Wall was the place to be both during the day and at night. We begin our days there with a KB's bagel and coffee, and end them with pizza and ice cream. It’s not a New England summer without that 4 p.m. text from someone, “Who wants to meet at the Wall tonight?” Nighttime is for Tripoli’s Pizza, the sound of waves, and wishes on shooting stars. Wednesday nights are especially important, as those are the nights that Hampton Beach sets off the weekly firework display.
