Being a positive person doesn't mean that you're never going to have a bad day. It doesn't mean that you're never going to have a break down, or that you're never going to give up. Many people slap the label of a negative personality upon themselves for similar reasons. In reality, a positive person is willing to shine light on a negative situation more often than not.
Today, society is presented with many negative situations. Violence, hate, protest and crime seem to completely take over our social media timelines. It’s almost hard to be positive after seeing everything we have been exposed to. The world is filled with tangible items and too many people attempt to find happiness by filling their life with material things. Receiving tangible items does not make you “positive” just because you are currently happy. Being a positive person includes sharing a friendly conversation with people on the street or even just smiling at strangers. Being a positive person means you do not let your downfalls define you.
One of the hardest tasks of being a positive person is not taking-out negative feelings on others. If you feel as if you are not positive enough, try looking at things in a different matter. Say hello to people in your workplace, classroom or current surroundings. Get to know someone and exchange a positive conversation with them. Maybe you find happiness through others, through nature or through learning. Maybe your happiness is stemmed through activities, so create plans. Having something to look forward too really boosts your happiness! Anyone can be their own kind of positive as long as they wake up with a good outlook on life. Psychology has proven that beginning your day with a negative attitude dooms you from the start. You can positively survive in a negative world by creating your own happiness.
It is very important to refrain from a constant state of negativity. Although social media portrays a negative image of the world, remember that the world is yours and what you make of it. There is no better form of happiness than realizing the endless possibilities that the world has to offer. Every single day is a fresh start; a new beginning. It's your life, be positive and go conquer it.
