During recruitment you'll have a lot of different people tell you their versions of what being in sorority life is actually like, but here's the truth. Being in a sorority is all what you make of it and every single person will have a different experience. Some people will love it, others will hate it. It really just depends on you as a person and you're own experiences within your sorority.

Going into recruitment this year, I remember being so nervous the entire time because I believed I wouldn't find a place where I belonged. That is entirely false. I promise you at every school there will be a sorority where you will fit in. I remember falling in love with literally every sorority (what can I say I love their philanthropies) but there were two at the end that really just had my hert.

Honestly I wish I didn't fall in love with two because making a decision on which one to chose was one of the hardest decisions I've had to make so far. At the end of the day, you end up where you truly belong and that's what matters most.

Some girls won't get their first choice sorority, but that doesn't mean you're not going to love your second choice. I know plenty of girls that got their second choice but now they're glad they did because of the amazing girls they've met along the way as well as the money they've raised towards their philanthropy. When they say "trust the system," do just that. I promise you that if you let it change you for the better, it will.

While there are many reasons to join a sorority my main purpose was not only for the sisterhood but also the philanthropy. I'm a really emotional and people loving person so for me having to pick between the completely fantastic philanthropies that each sorority at my school had to offer was so hard. Each one is so amazing, but thankfully even though I'm in one sorority it doesn't mean I can't go or donate to the other philanthropies and support them as well.

At first, I wasn't completely in love with my organization's philanthropy until I was able to go to a volunteering event and got to see what the money we raise actually does. Once you see what your hard work does for others its truly life-changing. Being part of a sorority isn't only about the names and appearances, it's also about the good that you're doing for the community.

When people say what you put into it is what you get, they're right. My first semester in my sorority was pretty rough because I was too shy to put myself out there or go after things I wanted in the fear of being judged. With the help of some pretty amazing friends, this semester I changed all that and decided to put myself out there and not only have I been able to get a couple positions within my sorority but I've also met even more of my sisters. I've completely stepped out of my comfort zone yet I've never felt more comfortable in my own skin.

I can genuinely say I'm in love with my sorority and Greek Life at my school in general. As my second semester being part of the Greek community I truly feel like I'm finally beginning to find myself not only within my own organization and the Greek community but also in general. I've struggled a lot with choosing my major and many other things and I can honestly say that the friends I've made in my organization have been there for me and have had a huge impact on my life so far in the best way possible.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
