How God Will Use Your Trial For His Glory
A Game Of Clothes

Let me be honest by simply stating that I am going through a trial, and I know many of you are, as well. Let me just open with this: Friends, God is going to turn your situation around. He is going to show up and He is going to show out. He is going to deliver you!

God says He will not give you more than you can bear! You may be struggling, but if you hold on to Him, you will not fall!

"There hath no temptation taken you but such as man can bear: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that ye may be able to endure it." 1 Corinthians 10:13

He promised in His Word that He would make a way to escape the trials that we endure. He is faithful! Let me say that I understand what it is like to feel helpless in certain situations in our lives. We have financial struggles. We go through different health problems. We lose jobs. I've said before that God keeps us close to Him through our need for Him. He allows us to go through tribulations to help us. That sounds counter-intuitive, doesn't it? Bear with me, friends. You see, as Christians, we aren't just looking at what this life on earth has to offer; we are looking at the hereafter. We should be focused on Heaven and making sure our souls are right with God when it is our time to go. Through our need for God, we are prompted to continuously seek Him. Through our trials, we cling to God. Through our trials, our faith grows.

Have you ever thought about what it would be to have a perfect life? I have, and it is terrifying. I'd have all the money in the world and perfect health. I wouldn't have to work. I could have all the pleasures this life affords. I would be headed straight for hell. I would forget that Jesus is the ultimate source of life. He is the ultimate source of comfort. I would never open my Bible. I would never go to church. I would seek my happiness from the world and put my confidence in men. I would be a wreck. My life would be a disaster.

Jesus allows us to walk through trials to grow our faith. We are reminded that without Jesus, we are nothing. He allows us to suffer so He can walk with us through the trial. We will cleave closer to Him. We will continually seek Him and His will. He lets us walk through valleys so the mountains will be so much sweeter. We walk through the fire so that we can be purified. We walk through the valleys to display God's magnificence and His glory. We walk through the valleys so God can show us that we are over-comers of this world, just as He overcame this world. We walk through these trials and tribulations so that we may have perfect peace through Christ Jesus our Lord.

"I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Challah vs. Easter Bread: A Delicious Dilemma

Is there really such a difference in Challah bread or Easter Bread?

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
