19 Tips To Get That Last Minute Spring Break Bod Together

With spring break quickly approaching, everyone including myself is realizing that maybe we didn't get into the gym as much as we should've this semester and maybe we haven't made the best food choices as well. Here are 20 tips on how to try and get that last minute kick start to a spring break body while aiming to be the best and healthiest version of yourself.

1. Start out with a positive mindset. If you look at yourself positively, you're automatically going to feel better.

2. Eat a lot of green stuff, it helps.

3. Try to workout every day, it relieves stress and will release endorphins to boost your mood.

4. Stay away from fast food and soda.

5. Walk to class instead of drive, those hills are great for toning your butt and legs

6. Stay away from bad carbs (yes, I know this sucks and includes Chick-Fil-A). Brown rice is a healthy carb as long as you aren't eating mountains of it.

7. Don’t starve yourself, it won't get you anywhere

8. Don’t eat fruit after 2 p.m., your body doesn't have enough time to process all the sugars and will store them.

9. Eat a lot of chicken. Chicken chicken chicken.

10. Always eat breakfast, if you don't your body will think you're starving it and store everything you eat that day as fat.

11. If you’re going to drink, suck it up and order a vodka water.

12. You have to pick between carbs or alcohol, and if you're in college we know what that choice is going to be.

13. Cardio is your friend, not your enemy.

14. Love your body or you’ll never be satisfied.

15. Do ab exercises during commercial breaks while you're watching television.

16. Get a tan before spring break, everyone likes themselves better when they're bronzed.

17. Eat the dark green lettuce (spring mix, spinach, kale) because the iceberg may taste better but it's mostly water.

18. The more protein you eat, the fuller you’ll be throughout the day and you won't be as tempted to eat the fattening stuff.

19. Aim to be healthier, not only will you feel better, but the rest of the results will fall into place.

You aren’t going to turn into a super model overnight, so take this guide as a new mindset and try to make yourself healthier. Not everyone has a thigh gap, and not everyone can sit down and not have rolls form on their stomach. We are human, love yourself and strive to be the best version of yourself that you can be.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
