I think we can all agree that spring break is just a tease for summer. The warm weather, the sunny days with not a cloud in sight, and being home with friends and family with no responsibilities. Until you return back to school and realize it only gets harder from this point on. Papers due, group projects to work on, and of course taking your final exams: unless you're like me, who still has exams before my final exams.
I hate to admit that I'm in total summer mode, because even though this entire year has flown by up to this point, I have a feeling that this last month will be painfully long. Though I'd love to give up when it gets hard, that's not what I'm paying over $26,000 a year for. I've learned that stress can really build up pretty quickly. I'll have weeks where I don't have any homework, or really anything assigned. However, there's other weeks, where I'll have two essays, an exam, and three things of homework due all within four days. I'm guilty of wanting to ignore all my responsibilities, nap, or watch Netflix. But, you just have to rip the bandaid and get it all done, even if that means you're up until two in the morning three nights in a row.
Priorities are a huge part of college, and something no one can do for you. You have to be able to balance many things at once (easier said than done, I know). Being able to prioritize your life is a priority all in itself. Your friends all may be going out one night, but that essay you have to do needs to be done. It's okay to skip a party once in a while to get school work done. Parties go on almost everyday of the week, so staying in for one night to get a good grade on your essay will be worth it in the long run.
Utilize those beautiful sunny days. Don't think because you're drowning in work that you can't leave your room or the library. Find a new study spot outside. If anything this will relax you more. Yeah your friends may be going to that huge dage that's going on down the street, but trust me, you won't leave the party early to work on your homework even though you promised yourself you would.
All of the work you've done these entire two semesters, will all be worth it the day you walk out of your last final. You'll then have four whole months to relax, catch up with friends, get an internship, work a few days a week, etc. The moment you step on the beach for the first time again since August, will be the best feeling, and you'll know that all of the work you did led up to this relaxing, joyous, moment.
