"You say hi to your friends you ain't seen in awhile, try and stay out of everybody's way. It's your freshman year and you're gonna be here for the next four years in this town."

You just have SO MUCH optimism in this moment. You're not a jaded senior, you're a hopeful 15 year old who has a world ahead of her.

"Hoping one of those senior boys will wink at you and say, 'You know I haven't seen you around before.'"

Senior boys definitely do hit on the freshmen girls. Sometimes it does end up working out for the best but often times they really do just want one thing (but if that is your thing so be it.)

"Cause when you're fifteen and somebody tells you they love you, you're gonna believe them. And when you're fifteen feeling like there's nothing to figure out."

You really do think you're going to marry whoever you're with at fifteen. They might love you, but they're not in love with you in the way you'll experience it later in life. And you really don't have anything to figure out at this point...please appreciate this time in your life.

"Count to ten take it in this is life before you know who you're gonna be at fifteen."

I definitely do not miss high school but it definitely does go by pretty fast. High school drags on, but becoming an adult hits you like a ton of bricks. Enjoy being younger.

"Laughing at the other girls who think they're so cool, we'll be out of here as soon as we can."

I said this all of my freshman year, all I wanted was to be done. And you'll get there, I promise.

"And then you're on your very first date and he's got a car and you're feeling like flying. And your mamma's waiting up and you're thinking he's the one and you're dancing 'round your room when the night ends."

Take in that feeling after your first date because it is such a special feeling. You're only young once, enjoy all the butterflies and nonsense that comes with it.

"But in your life you'll do things greater than dating the boy on the football team but I didn't know it at fifteen."

So much of high school is just a popularity contest. Who you date and who you hang around is not the most important thing by far that you'll do. You are worth more than your popularity or who you're dating as a freshman in high school.

"When all you wanted was to be wanted wish you could go back and tell yourself what you know now."

I really do wish I could go back just to tell myself it was okay just to be myself. I spent so much time worrying about how others viewed me when I should've just been relaxing enjoying life as it came.

"Back then I swore I was gonna marry him someday but I realized some bigger dreams of mine."

THIS LINE IS SO IMPORTANT. If you do marry your high school sweetheart from freshman year, that is a cool story to tell. But for some people (like myself) that isn't the case. Love yourself and find things you love and don't put all your energy into someone else.

"And Abigail gave everything she had to a boy who changed his mind and we both cried."

I think this line is supposed to be in regards to virginity...but I think that idea is kind of old. I think it can also be putting in a lot of energy into someone and getting nothing in return. My previous high school relationship was me putting all my effort, time, and support and getting zero back. I wish I could've told myself that isn't healthy.

"I've found time can heal most anything and you just might find who you're supposed to be. I didn't know who I was supposed to be at fifteen."

Time really can heal anything. Give any situation that seems overwhelming two weeks and I promise it'll be solved (usually.) It's okay you don't know who you are yet. You're only fifteen.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
