If you aren't hooked on "This is Us" you are really missing out. Season 1 was incredible and Season 2 is even better. If you are all caught up, you know that perfect dad, Jack, sadly dies. However, we still don't exactly how. We have been given many clues so let's look at all the facts:

1. There is a fire at the Pearson family home

The first episode of this season gives us many clues but one in particular stands out, the fire. We can clearly tell it's the Pearson home because of the mailbox but when does this exactly occur? Did Jack die in the fire or did he die beforehand? His belongings are in the backseat but maybe he had them in there for a long time before the fire? Fellow fan Amanda Ramsaroop believes that Jack may have died trying to Kate's dog from the fire. This is a valid point because we all know what he would do for his kids.

2. Kate blames herself

There is no denying that Jack and Kate had a close relationship. Flashbacks prove that he was always her #1 fan and vice versa. Kate blames herself for her father's demise which might not be true but that means she is most likely involved somehow. Fans Emily Thomas and Heather Como believe that Jack may have died saving Kate from the fire. "I think they had a fire because of that damn washing machine and Kate got trapped and he died getting her out", Emily says and Heather agrees. This is certainly a valid point because of Kevin's broken leg and the "possessed" washer machine. Hopefully, more clues point to this during the rest of the season.

3. Jack was beyond stressed out

Jack is a contractor and with that comes enormous responsibility. Plus, he has three children and a wife that wants space. He also hides his stress from them and tries to become "the perfect dad".

4. He was in the military before he met Rebecca

On the last episode of Season 1, we are told that Jack was in the military. Then, Episode 2 of this season shows a clip of him in his uniform coming out of a helicopter with a montage of him beating a punching bag. This makes us think that Jack might have some sort of PTSD and that he would maybe commit suicide. However, this is debunked most likely because of the episode where Randall "sees" Jack at the cabin. He didn't ask him anything about the suicide and would have had a whole different approach I think.

5. His dad is an alcoholic that hates him

We are shown flashbacks of Jack's dad many times in Season 1. Jack went to him when he needed money to buy the Pearson home. Maybe the father gets angry about the money and sets the house on fire?

6. Kevin and Kate both hate planes

Kevin is seen destroying the planes that him and Jack made. Kate is also terrified when she gets on her flight. Planes are a very common fear and they are twins, so it wouldn't be too unusual, but maybe Jack died in a plane crash? There was one in 1997 (when Jack supposedly died) where all 23 passengers died on board.

7. Miguel is his best friend but marries Rebecca in the future

I don't think I've ever felt so betrayed like I was when I found out that Miguel marries Rebecca. There is no excuse for you to marry your best friend's wife, there just isn't (unless Jack told him to but I doubt it). This isn't "Law & Order" but maybe Miguel wanted to get Jack "out of the way".

No matter how Jack died, we should all listen to Milo and "focus on his life". It's going to destroy us either way.
