Not everyone I know is as “favored” when it comes to the money sector. People like to see celebrities and envy them for all they have because it looks s easy. However, there is a route for all of us "regular" individuals to achieve more than what they show off. I know it’s so hard to save money, but it’s worth it!

Growing up, I’ve watched my parents work hard to provide their family "nice" things like a roof over our heads, food in our tummies and the more than occasional night out to eat. I was so used to having money spent on me that it completely went over my head that it takes lots of discipline and smarts to double or even triple income like my parents have done. Over the years, I’ve been unconsciously picking up and paying attention to the tactics my parents used towards achieving all they have today. FYI: My parents were once immigrants to the U.S.A

Open a checking or savings account. HAVING CASH IN YOUR FACE IS THE EASIEST WAY TO NEVER HAVE ANY MONEY because it’s in your face. These days there are online banks that will charge you a small monthly fee (maybe about $50) if you don’t have at least $500 in the account. So to stay away from paying that fee place one of your checks into the account and don’t touch the $500. It’s as simple as that. Every other week, place increments of $20 into the account. You’ll be surprised at the amount you have.

Another trick to saving money is to place every check you receive into the account and limit yourself to a weekly allowance. To make it easier for yourself, withdraw your weekly allowance as cash!

Don’t use your card, you won’t be able to keep up with your expenses. The only difficulty with this method is if you spend or withdraw over your budget because then you'll be defeating the purpose altogether.

Do not BLOW money like you just won the lotto or as if you're at the strip club until you are in the “SAFE ZONE”. So in other terms, make sure you at least have a $100 dollars in your account.

When you get your first paycheck DO NOT spend it all. Use only 20% or less. When you get to your third or fourth check only then can you blow it all and not care but for now be humble & patient and do not use all your money.

There are apps that can help you save money and get cash back on online purchases or from buying items at certain stores. Some of the apps are Drop, Chime, and Acorns. Check them out.

Limits your bills! Having to pay a car note of $500 a month and paying for daily expenses like gas money, groceries, and rent all add up. Be humble and live comfortably until you can overcompensate for those expenses.

Like the saying goes “Live lower than your means to rise above your means!!” Remember, it’s a short time struggle towards long-term happiness! Don’t only think about the now. You have a future! You deserve everything you have ever dream of and you can achieve it.

Sooner or later you’ll be able to pay a mortgage and own your beautiful dream home. You’ll be able to send your kids to college and you’ll be able to travel the world effortlessly. It ‘s all within your mindset. Do not belittle yourself and take the easy way out. Make a difference for yourself, friends, family, and society!

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
