On Sunday, many celebrities were draped in their sharpest threads of black or white for the Grammys along with a white rose. The white rose was to show support for the current movements like ‘Time’s Up’ and ‘#MeToo’.
According to journalist, Nardine Saad of La Times, “the writers asked them to wear white roses in support of “equal representation in the workplace, for leadership that reflects the diversity of our society, workplaces free of sexual harassment and a heightened awareness of accountability.”
Not only were the celebrities performances impressive, their outfit choices were exemplary. Here’s a look at their exquisite taste.
1. Elton John
Elton John in a Gucci blazer- blinged out in purple, gold and red- and knuckle rings with his name spelled out, so we don’t forget. If his blazer and rings are blinged out, you know his glasses are too. Honestly, he is not over doing it and it doesn’t look too overwhelming. The black in his neckline and collar tones it down a bit. All in all, simply stunning. No surprise there, Sir Elton John never disappoints.
2. DJ Khaled and son, Asahd
DJ Khaled and son, Asahd, wearing matching red suits and little Asahd kicking it in some Gucci sneakers. There is nothing more adorable than this. Can we talk about Asahd and how he is already at the Grammys, meanwhile, I’m just trying to graduate. Major key.
3. Miley Cyrus
Miley Cyrus living her best life in this flattering, all-black Jean Paul Gaultier jumpsuit. She’s holding her rose unlike most of the others who all had theirs clipped to them. Slicked back hair was the way to go so that the main focus was on her black jumpsuit. Her heels just add to her sleekness, a clear toe strap and heel but black bottom really flows well with her outfit. Well done, MC!
4. Eve
The rapper and actress, Eve, showing us how to wear a plunging neckline with her Naeem Khan crystal-lined pantsuit. Posing with just the right amount of skin showing, her high-waisted pants, simple diamond necklace as she holds her white rose and purse, I would say she executed this look with precision.
5. Zayn Malik
Zayn Malik sporting a Richard James Spring suit in the perfect shade of red that compliments his skin tone. He took a different route and wore a white rose patch on his jacket instead of the real rose. The patterned socks gives a subtle touch to add some pop to but does not take away from the perfectly tailored suit. Looking spiffy. I’m sure girlfriend, Gigi Hadid, approves.
6. Lana Del Rey
Lana Del Rey wearing a cream-colored Gucci gown with stars embellished all over and even a subtle star crown for the ‘cherry on top’. Though she has a long, diamond necklace on, her outfit and accessories give off a soft and sweet vibe. She looks just as her music sounds, dreamy.
7. SZA
SZA, the most-nominated woman of the year at the Grammys, serving us looks in this all-white Atelier Versace dress. The sheerness and movement of this dress makes it look like a piece of art. SZA accessorized perfectly by wearing a small set of earrings, her voluptuous curls and natural makeup. SZA, my girl, you are a masterpiece.
8. Donald Glover
Donald Glover aka Childish Gambino was looking “All The Shine” in his Ermenegildo Zegna crisp white suit. He added contrast with the black loafers which was a smart move to tone down his outfit but still not taking away from it either. His gold bracelet and ring looks nice and compliments his skin against his white suit. In simple terms, he looks quite dapper. A+ for you Gambino.
9. Ne-Yo
The three Grammy award winning artist, Ne-Yo, modeling Grayscale, Hollywood Hatters and Christian Louboutin and looking stylish in it all. I don’t know anyone else who could pull off the mustard color jacket like Ne-Yo can. Also, wearing a white rose in support of the movements. The green stem from the rose is aesthetically pleasing with white in the rose and his shirt lying against the yellow jack.
10. Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga strutting tall, bold boots and a captivating lace jumpsuit paired with a black skirt designed by Armani Prive’. With such a powerful ensemble, her hair smoothly pulled back- not to take away from her dress- was the way to go. The smoky eye was just the right amount of smokey and her soft nude lip color went nicely since she already was so bold with the eye makeup. Amazing. The ‘Million Reasons’ singer gave us a million reasons to love everything about this look.
