Little one I know it is hard to handle teething pain,
I really wish I could take all of your pain away
You scream at the top of your lungs, cry and pitch a fit,
which is understandable since you are uncomfortable
Long nights come and soon enough they will go,
I just hope the pain goes away fast
I constantly see you pull at your ears over and over,
I silently pray you do not get an ear infection,
otherwise your pain will be that much more
I hold you tightly, hearing your cries right in my ear
You pull my hair, in the process, but I know you do not know what to do
Daddy also tries to calm down your anxiety and pain
If he is lucky, he will be able to rock you to sleep in his arms
We miss our sweet, playful little boy,
and we know he is in there, hidden away for a while because of this horrible pain,
the teething pain just won’t go away
Thankfully you are playing once again,
laughing and giggling and having such a blast
Maybe the teething pain will stay far way,
but when it comes back we will try our best to make it go away
