The house I grew up in and the town I lived in, will always be my home. No matter where life takes me, this home will hold a special place in my heart, and driving on the roads I drove on at the age of 18 will never get old.
But, I have found a second home. A second home I will have forever. I am so thankful for this. I know that not many people are as lucky as me and feel comfortable calling college home.
But, Madison has stolen my heart. And somehow, my little dorm room has become a home.
I have been in love with Madison my whole life, but if you would have asked me a year ago if I thought I would be able to call Madison home, I probably would have said no.
I didn't think something could replace the home I grew up in. And the thing is, nothing did. I just gained a new home.
I have created so many memories in this home, and I continue to create memories in my other home — just not as frequently.
When people often ask me, "where are you?" I always answer "I'm home." Maybe, I'm in Madison. Maybe, I'm in Belleville. You'll never know, but I'm home.
In a few short days, I'll have to leave Madison for the summer and return home. I'm honestly not ready to leave my home in Madison, but I'm not leaving it. I'll be back and I'll spend days here this summer. Madison is my home, but it's time for me to give a little love to my other home.
I might even find another home to make memories in, in my lifetime. Honestly, I hope I do. I hope I have the opportunity to explore many places. The world is so big, so why not create many homes for yourself?
