Finals have finally all been turned in and almost everyone is home with the OG crew from high school for the holidays. Three months apart flew by, but it also felt like an eternity. By now, we have millions of college stories to spill to our squad, but only 2-3 weeks to do it. But obviously, considering the limited time we have, we have to make the most of break with our besties.
1. Gas your schools up
Hopefully, we’ve all had positive experiences at school and will grab any chance we get to gas up our schools. When our friends ask us how the first semester, we’ll be tempted to go on for hours about how in love we are. We might even drop the subtle, “well at (insert college here)…” 10 to 20 times a day, every day. There’s a good chance we’ll all show up to our first gathering in college attire as well.
2. Recount every night out with visual aids via Snapchat stories
College is crazy. Most of us aren’t used to going out without our high school squads, so we naturally have to fill them in on every detail of every night. And we can’t forget that a picture’s worth a thousand words, and thankfully, we’ve got every night documented in our Snapchat archives
3. Show face at a high school party and relive the glory days
Now that we’re in ~college~, we have this false sense of confidence that we’ll look sick showing up to a high school party. So, we will feed our egos and show face. Going to a high school party will bring back old memories for you and your girls, and remind you of how much fun you had in high school.
4. Hit up all the fav food spots
Every friend group had their go-to spots in high school. Whether it’s the salad place you used to stop by after school, the nice restaurant you would go to for birthday’s, the bagel store you’d order from after sleepovers, or the Applebee’s you’d show face at after Friday night football games, they’re all a necessity to visit while you’re in town.
5. Eat real food, not from the dining hall and argue over whose dining food is worse
No secret here, dining hall food sucks. Finally, you can eat home cooked meals and order food from your parent’s Post-mates instead of your own. When talking about food, you’ll inevitably argue over whose dining hall is the grossest.
6. Second semester shopping
No one was prepared. We all rolled up to the first semester with eight suitcases, but we still didn’t have exactly what we needed. We have officially run out of outfits, so it’s time to take the girls to the mall and get shopping.
7. Talk college boys
College boys. Another breed of human. A lot can happen in three months, so we are all guaranteed to have some juicy boy stories.
8. NYE
New Year's Eve with the girls is an absolute must. You’re all dressed up and got ready together and figured out something fun to do since your time together was quickly beginning to running out.
9. Beg them to visit
2-3 weeks goes fast. We are excited to get back to school, but it would be better with our OGs there by our side. We’ll make arrangements to visit each other, in fear that we couldn’t fathom being apart for another 4 months.
