During the season of gift-giving, gamers may not be able to make up their minds on which titles are worth putting on their holiday list. However, as a video game retail associate, I will provide a list of titles, mostly tailored to specific consoles, over the next couple of weeks to add to your gaming library. Without further ado, here are the titles that made the PlayStation 4 list.
1. "Fallout 4"
This one-player, open world RPG swept the market with its early November release. Although not a PlayStation 4 exclusive, this post-apocalyptic shooter is a must-have this holiday season. With jetpacks, mutants, and never-ending weapon possibilities, it is no wonder that it has already been nominated Game of the Year for 2015 not even a month after its release.
2. "Bloodborne"
"Bloodborne" is a completely gorgeous third-person rage game. For the fans of the Dark Souls series, this takes it to the next level: graphics, difficulty, and weapons. Totally a game that you may replay consecutively and never become overpowered.
4. "Destiny: The Taken King"
Are you tired of your social life? Would you like to hand over your life to a video game? If so, purchase Destiny. This first-person shooter keeps you endlessly entertained with the tedious, grinding-all-day-and-night level up system, and raids that catalyze socializing with people across the world on PlayStation Network. Buyer beware: you will get violent with whoever tries taking this game away from you.
4. "Batman: Arkham Knight"
As always, the Batman game series does not disappoint. Keeping comic book fans happy with villain appearances like the Penguin, Two-Face, and Poison Ivy, and maintaining game-play engaging with the Batmobile, with multiple styles of combat for gamers, Arkham Knight does not disappoint.
5. "InFAMOUS: Second-Son"
Ready for an amazing action-adventure game that will rip your heart out? Well, Second-Son does the trick. With scenic, crumbling-city sights, and power after power introduced to the lovable but snarky protagonist, this game will grip you and refuse to let you go. Nevertheless, there will be tears.
6. "Until Dawn"
A fun horror game based on choices, that could equal deadly consequences for your cast of characters. Up there on the gruesome factor, but a total must for slasher-movie addicts.
7. "Little Big Planet 3"
Not about the blood and gore? Well, look no further. Every home needs this family-friendly couch co-op filled with creative puzzle-platformer. With multiple characters, and a variety of power-ups, LGP 3 keeps players thinking. Besides, Sackboy is literally the cutest thing alive.
8. "Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty!"
Ready for a PlayStation 1 classic? New ‘n’ Tasty! is available for downloadable play on PSN, now with a “quiksave” feature and phenomenal HD classics. The particularly odd side-scroller highlights everything we love about an alien saving his enslaved race from being converted into food.
9. "Binding of Isaac: Rebirth"
This side-scroller first proved its ability to infinitely entertain as an indie game on Steam, but the fan-base for it has evolved, demanding a broader market. Rebirth is a fun, childhood-trauma-inspired dungeon crawler, with power-ups for your main weapon of the game: Isaac’s tears. Warning: it can be explicitly crude at times.
