Recently, we have had strong leads in movies. Especially with "Wonder Woman", we see that strong female leads are possible and inspire so many people. We should move forward even more and have a strong, Hispanic female lead. Yes, we have had amazing Hispanic female leads in previous movies like Jessica Alba, Michelle Rodriguez Cote de Pablo.

I am not saying that these women haven't done the best they can. They are all amazing, strong females that have fought for their position. Still, they are being taken out of the light by their other male leads. So why hasn't there been a Hispanic female lead yet?

By having a Hispanic, female lead we will be showing little girls how they can be strong too. We will be showing a whole race that they shouldn't live under someone else's shadow. They are amazing women out there that are more than just their good looks or a good body. They are smart, leading and have done truly extraordinary things.

Hollywood is run by men.

Lately, we have seen what goes on behind the scenes and it is truly horrifying. Women need to be vocal and strong in telling their male co-workers that they are here for work. Men need to know that not everyone is into them and to keep their hands to themselves, which is taught to preschool kids. By having more female leads that express power, by not just Hispanic women but by all races, they can rise up and show what they are truly capable of.

I am not saying that male leads are terrible or that other races of female leads are not as strong. I believe that we should see a strong Hispanic female lead in a movie that doesn't demonize her, use her as a sex object or is just there to be eye candy.

With "Wonder Woman," women felt powerful and like they were actually being seen and not just looked at. With a Hispanic lead, we will be showing the world how much more woman can do and show that no matter the race we be strong. There needs to be a strong storyline with a true meaning. It would need to express a story for the future.

We need to set an example for the next generation after us, for the children who are growing up. They will be watching and learning from movies that have recently made and will be made. We have strong leads from both genders, some races, and an overall backstory. Hollywood needs to diversify. We need to show the world that no matter the color of your skin or the heritage that you have, we all can change the world. We can all make a difference for good. No matter what we can be good. We need to express that. We are the future.

Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
