8 Times "How I Met Your Mother" Accurately Describes Finals Week
Boston Herald

This year at Butler, finals week started on a Wednesday which leaves one more weekend before the last two days of exams. Finals is undoubtly one of the most stressful times of the year due to the fact that most students find themselves trying to plan their study time or cramming material at the last minute. During this time, it is important for me to still get in a laugh or two. Thinking about the next couple days, I will probably be watching an episode or two of "How I Met Your Mother" just to decompress or take a study break. This gave me the idea of relating finals week to this popular show. I present to you, finals week as told by the characters of "How I Met Your Mother".

1. Thinking about all the exams ahead of you before summer break

The week feels daunting. You know just what you need to accomplish each day but it's a battle of motivation.

2. Packing up your backpack with every single item you may need for the day

When you know you're going to spend the entire day in the library, it becomes crucial to bring snacks and books...a healthy balance of both, of course.

3. Beginning to cram any material you can

The study guide is ten pages deep and you're brain is already hurting at page two. You know you have to manage to cram all this material before the exam and you begin to come up with creative ways to do so.

4. When the lack of sleep begins to hit

Your sleep schedule becomes unbalanced and you begin to feel dead inside. You've become immune to staying up past 2am, and you forget what it feels like to be in your bed for more than a couple hours.

5. And you feel like you're in a constant state of hunger

Finals week can have you studying or taking tests at weird times making you skip meals or live off of snacks and granola bars all week. Sometimes, you can eat actual meals but are still hungry an hour or two after.

6. Walking out of the exam with time to spare

It becomes more stressful when the time is winding down, everyone is getting up to leave, and you still have a couple questions left on your exam. The best feeling is finishing an exam and having time left to check over work.

8. Leaving campus for the summer

You're done! You made it through the week. You're probably brain dead and you can't wait to sleep in the next day. You can't wait to get off campus, but you're still going to check your final grades to see if the exam was put in.

Don't forget to enjoy the last few days on campus. I wish the best to all the fellow Bulldogs on their exams. See you next fall, Butler!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
