Making it into the National Basketball Association is an accomplishment within itself, but averaging 20 to 30 points per game is unbelievable. Some of the elite of the NBA make it look easy and look like they barely put in any effort, which is completely false. Here are five of the NBA's scoring leaders from last year:
1. Russell Westbrook
Russell Westbrook averaged an amazing 31.6 points per game during the regular NBA season. He also won the MVP award for his whopping 42 triple - doubles, 31.6 points, 10+ rebounds, and 10+ assists. Sadly, this amazing performance was not enough for the Thunder to make it to the finals, as they lost in the first round to the Rockets.
2. James Harden
In this year, James Harden had to switch from playing shooting guard to playing point guard. This seemed to work better, as Harden averaged a crazy 29.1 points per game, and his new position helped him average 11.2 assists. Harden could not go far in the playoffs, as he was eliminated by the Spurs.
3. Isaiah Thomas
Isaiah Thomas is a point guard for the Boston Celtics. He averaged 28.9 points per game as a 5' 9" NBA player. He had a few 50 point games, which in the end were not enough, as they got eliminated from the playoffs by the Cavaliers.
4. Anthony Davis
Anthony Davis is a power forward for the New Orleans Pelicans. He averaged 28.0 points per game last year as a 6' 11" monster in the paint. His team on the other hand was not up to power, and did not even make the playoffs.
5. DeMar DeRozan
DeMar DeRozan is a shooting guard for the Toronto Raptors. He averaged 27.3 points per game and is extremely good at shooting mid - range shots. They were then eliminated by the Cavaliers in the playoffs.
