To The High School Teachers Who Made Us The Academics We Are Today

I never really thanked my teachers enough when I was in high school. And I should have because those teachers have made me the person I am today. Some of my teachers even helped prepare me for college — even if I never took their advice.

I had high school teachers who made me love learning. And I had some who didn't. Those who did were less by the book, and they made learning fun. Those were the classes that made high school bearable. Those were the classes that I miss, even three years after graduating.

Thank you to my teachers, who spent the time making class fun and brightening the days of your students.

I had teachers who taught us life lessons, not just what was a part of the curriculum. We learned more than just how to be the best student — and that there is more to life than just preparing for the next stage of learning.

I had high school teachers who made me hate beloved subjects, while others helped me realize that I loved a subject. Because as much as people sometimes say it doesn't matter, a teacher can make all the difference.

I learned that I loved chemistry and French simply because of my teachers. I learned how to love English again after having an English teacher who made me despise the subject. That's something that I am beyond thankful for, as I am now an English major.

I learned a lot in high school from many different teachers — both good and bad things. I learned that teachers can be wrong and stuck in their ways, no matter how much they argue and support the argument.

I learned that sometimes teachers want students to interpret things one specific way, which can get frustrating. Other teachers encourage having different interpretations, something that was necessary to learn before college.

Thank you to my teachers who encouraged creativity.

Thank you for everything you do for all of your students. I'm sorry it has taken so long for you to get a thank you, but just know that you make a difference.

So to my high school teachers: Thank you.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
