You never realize how great you have things until it is taken away from you. Enjoy your last few months of high school while you have them.
Go to all the baseball and lacrosse games. Spend time with the ones you love before they are no longer by your side. Appreciate your teachers and your peers. Do not skip class for fun. Live in the moment not through your phone.
Being in high school can feel like an endless trap that you cannot wait to be free from. You cannot wait to go to college and be free and on your own. The truth of it is you have all you need while you are in High School and it is only as bad as you make it seem so do not take the little things for granted.
Do not forget about your family because they were there for you all the times your friends were not.
Eating the dinner at home that your mother cooked you will not ruin your social life. Remember that she will remember the little things-- always make her as happy as she makes you. Stay home for dinner and do not take for granted what she makes because whatever it is will be better than caf food at college.
Being out in public with your dad will not ruin your social life either. Remember that he has always been the man that has stood by your side while everyone else was going around breaking your heart. Hug him more often because no hug you will get will ever compare to a father's love.
Your friends are your guiding lights, but that does not mean they will be around forever.
If you are lucky you will have your High School friends for a lifetime. These are the people who stuck by your side through the toughest of times and even the brightest of days. Some people who come into your life are only temporary so you cannot focus your entire life around them. If you leave for school, come back, and they are still around then you guys are the lucky ones.
College.
College is a wild ride so get ready to hold on tight with all you have. Yes, there are a lot of fun moments, but along with the fun comes the real life. You will learn a lot and not only academically. The best thing I have learned is about myself. College is a time to truly find yourself and realize who you really are. This is your time to be who you are. You will find people who you never imagined you would meet in your lifetime. These are the greatest four years of your life so live them to their fullest, do not hold back, and enjoy every moment of life.
While college is going to be the best four years of your life, do not turn that into rushing out of all you know because one day you will want these days back more than ever.
