As summer break approaches its conclusion, you probably are preparing to head back to the routine of hitting the textbooks and spending their nights studying for upcoming tests. If you're a senior, chances are you are preparing for your final year of high school before they graduate and move on to the next chapter in their life that is either college, the military, or straight into the workforce. Many teens are excited for this, mainly due to finally being able to gain independence from their parental figures and go out and explore their potential of what their future holds for them.

However, as you approach the day they will be dressed in your cap and gown and walk across the stage to obtain your diploma, reality will start to creep up on you. You may be excited about moving on the next chapter in your life to begin adulthood, you may also cherish those moments you are with your friends hanging out at parties, cheering at the football games, going to the movies, or whatever else. That's why I am here to tell you that senior year is the time to take advantage of your social life is because it may be last time you'll have memories like these.

When August rolls in the summer graduation, many of the people you graduated with will be moving away to college, and if you haven't guessed, college means more homework, more studying, and less time with friends you've been hanging out with since middle school or elementary school. Unless you end up attending the same college as your friends, you will likely be surrounded by large groups of people you've never met in an environment you're probably unfamiliar with, and that can be stressful.

So it is very important that as you endure your final year of high school, take every opportunity you have to go out with your friends and create memories with them. Take plenty of pictures to fill your Instagram or Facebook page, share the laughs, and when you march comes around, go to prom (you don't have to be a good dancer to have a enjoyable time). While it is also crucial not to get caught up too much in socializing to the point you fall behind on your academics, it is also important to keep in mind that your days of being a kid are numbered.

When your parents, relatives, or any adult figure who's busy paying bills tells you to enjoy life while it last, take those words the heart. When you are hanging out with your buddies, take some time to let them how important they are to you because those moments y'all share together are limited.

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
