It's that time of year. The time when coffee is not only a want but a NEED. A more than you need food, water, or even air kind of need. Whether you like the taste, love the taste, or absolutely hate the taste, this substance will be your saving grace this finals week. Its miraculous power helps you stay up all hours of the night, or wake up at insane hours of the morning so you can hopefully ace that final. It's the drink you can have hot or cold, sweet or dry, and big or small. It is there to help you and make your life easier. Plus, not to mention, it sometimes tastes pretty good. So be thankful it's always there for you.

If you're like me, you're praising whatever higher power you believe in that Footnotes, the Starbucks in McKeldin, stays open for 24 hours during finals week. This way students can purchase whatever copious amount of coffee keeps their aching brains going. Also, not only does Footnotes sell coffee, but it sells snacks, sandwiches, and other beverages as well. If only Footnotes handed out A's. No wonder McKeldin is always crammed during finals week!! Probably for both the coffee and the hope that the sacrifices you've given Testudo after you've rubbed his nose are enough to make up for the entire semester's worth of procrastination and slacking.

Here are the top 10 most caffeinated drinks from Starbucks:

If you're a sweet tooth, chances are these won't be your favorite, but don't stress! You can always add sugar, caramel, or whatever else you like!! Regardless

Whether you wake up at 4 AM...

Go to sleep at 4AM...

Or just don't sleep at all...

...coffee will be there for you. It's there to be comforting, it's there to be helpful, and it's there to keep you (somewhat) sane. So thank you coffee, we couldn't get through this finals week without you.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
