Do you think God would have created us with legs if we were supposed to stay in one place? NO!

Here's Why You Should Travel The World
Brandon Arlington

We live in a world that is so big. There are so many places in this world that I have yet to see and I am very excited to see where I get to travel this upcoming year and beyond. I believe that one of the most beautiful things that God has given us is the world that we live in. I love to travel and I hope my love for travel that I am about to show to you will inspire you to take a little bit of 2018 to see a part of the world that you haven’t seen before. Do you think God would have created us with legs if we were supposed to stay in one place? NO!

I believe there is so much truth to the statement “there is no place like home”. The place that you grew up in and the people that watched you grow up are an extremely important part of who you are today. The culture that was created by those places and people have helped shape your character and personality into what they are today. However, the choice to travel is an amazing opportunity that we have in life and I think that everyone should take advantage of it. Even if it is only a small trip, traveling will broaden your horizons and give you a new perspective on life and how you live it.

Every time you travel you encounter new people. That is something that you can’t avoid. The people that live in these places have a lot of wisdom to offer about their homes and you can learn a lot from them. When I travelled to Alaska I can tell you that I learned the most about Alaska from the local people that lived and worked in the towns than I ever did from any guide book or travel brochure. They can tell you about the physical aspect of their homes as well as the cultural aspects of it as well. When we are at home going to school or work, it is easy to fall into the notion that the way you live your life is strikingly similar to those of others around the world. This just isn’t true.

People live out their lives in so many interesting ways and the only way to learn about all of these cool different ways is to get firsthand experience. Traveling offers you the opportunity to learn from others who face different schedules and obstacles in their everyday lives. This new perspective that you gain will allow you to view your own life in a different way. You will be able to appreciate some things more and maybe you will gain new perspectives on how to overcome problems in your own life.

I encourage you to travel somewhere you haven’t been before this year. Don’t just travel because you want to see some landmark (that’s still a good reason to travel!). Travel with an intent and desire to learn about the world we live in. This attitude will make exploring this world so much more interesting. Happy and safe travels!

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
