Here's To A Daddy's Girl

Too often "Daddy's girls" are proclaimed as being spoiled, privileged, dependent brats. For some this is true but it is so much more than that.

No man will ever be good enough for me in his eyes and no man could ever compare to him in mine. He is my biggest supporter with just an odd way of showing it. He is strict because he cares and wants to ensure my well being. He will protect me with every last piece of him, no one harms his baby. He is the man who will walk me down the aisle and give me away on my wedding day, even then he will still see me as his baby girl. Most of all, the last person you want to disappoint in this world is him. He's the one man who has always truly loved me no matter what. You strive to make him proud and love you more each and every day.

He is your motivation.

My father has taught me most of what I know today. I'm not afraid to get dirty, have some grime under my nails. I can hold my own and defend myself when it is needed and I know not to accept less than I deserve. I know that I am no better than any other person when it comes to making a living, supporting yourself and later on others. Do what needs to be done and worry about the rest later. Mine is my best hunting buddy, taught me the value of a dollar and to work hard to earn it. Makes sure I get the proper education in order to fulfill my dreams and be successful in this world. I know for as long as I live that no one could ever take as good of care of me as him. He has taught me to be independent and if you want something you have to work for it yourself, no handouts.

Now switching roles, if he ever needed a hand he knew he could count on me...I might not be the biggest help but I'll damn sure do my best at whatever it may be. I was always eager to see what he was doing or working on. On weekends wherever he went so did I. I wanted to be inseparable from him, he's my biggest role model. His morals are of great standards. He respects others and receives much respect in return. He is a hard working blue collar business man who works for what he wants and takes care of his wife and children. He is a family man and will do anything for not just me but anyone who sincerely needed help. He comes off as a serious, down to business man but he has a soft spot, you just have to find it.
So here's to my number one from birth to my last day. I'm a Daddy's girl, and I'm damn proud of it.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
