Recently the people of Texas have been slammed by Hurricane Harvey, and there are estimated billions of dollars worth of damage. If you were wondering how can you can help the victims of this tropical disaster, I have compiled a list of sites and places where you can donate anything from money to units of blood to help these people.
Please remember this is NOT going to take days to rebuild these communities-- it is going to take months, and maybe even years to get these people back on their feet. PLEASE help in any way that you can.
1. Red Cross
The Red Cross has set up a simple way to donate $10 and that is by texting HARVEY to 90999. You can also visit redcross.org or call 1-800-REDCROSS.
2. United Way

3. The Salvation Army
Donations to support The Salvation Army can be made at helpsalvationarmy.org or by calling 1-800-SAL-ARMY
4. Hurricane Harvey Relief Fund.
This has been set up by Houston's mayor and can be found here.
5. Houston Food Bank
Donate your time, money, or food to this bank. Their site can be found here.
6. Corpus Christi Food Bank
Donate money here.
7. Carter BloodCare
This helps cover hospitals in north, central, and east Texas. To donate you can call 877-571-1000 or text DONATE4LIFE 444-999.
