When you wake up in the morning you should be thankful. There are so many others who aren't here to enjoy the sunshine and the breeze.
If you wake up in the morning you are fortunate. It is true that you may be dealing with health problems, emotional problems, a mental health diagnosis or you may be dealing with things that nobody can see. You may be unemployed. You may be divorced. You may not have children and want children. You may have children and sometimes not like your children. You may be dealing with things that nobody knows. But if you wake up in the morning, you should be thankful.
Health problems are not pleasant to deal with. Emotional and mental problems are not pleasant to deal with. Struggling to get out of bed is not a happy part of life. Dealing with mental health issues is something that should not be wished on anyone. But no matter the struggles, you are here. No matter how difficult things can get, you can wake up and smell the rain. You can look into the sky and see the clouds. You can feel the sunshine on your face. There are so many others who aren't here to experience the joys of life every single day. You are. If you are reading this, you are here. If you are feeling the breeze, you are alive. If you are feeling the sunshine on your face, you are lucky. There are so many others who aren't in your shoes.
When you wake up, step out of bed, walk across the room and step into the hallway, the first thing you should do is look to the sky, feel the sunshine on your face, smell the rain, look out the window or walk into the yard and say "Hello, world." You are here. So many others aren't.
It is easy to struggle to get out of bed and complain about what's going on. It is easy to complain about how you feel. It is easy to complain that you don't want to go to work, your life is horrible, you're miserable or you are unhappy. Take a moment. Stop. Look around. And then think about people you've loved and lost. You may have lost a grandmother, an uncle, a cousin, a best friend, a wife, a husband, a sibling or someone else you've known in your life. They aren't here. They can't enjoy the sunshine. They can't enjoy the breeze blowing on their face. They can't see the sun in the sky. They can't hear the music. They can't enjoy life because they aren't here.
You are.
Take a moment. Look to the sky. Feel the breeze on your face. Feel the sunshine beat down against you. Feel the rainfall against your face. Smell the air. Smell the flowers. Enjoy the life you are living. Say a word of thanks. Whether your life is good, bad or ugly at the exact moment, you are here and you are alive.
When you wake up in the morning, say "Hello, world" and feel grateful that you are alive and breathing another day. I know I'm glad to be here.
