She's The Girl Whose Plans Have Changed Yet Again

I'm sure that there will never be a shortage of dull moments, even when the store isn't that busy. There is going to be so much to do, people to meet, and ice cream to sample.

She's The Girl Whose Plans Have Changed Yet Again

More than a few articles ago, I wrote about how I was looking for a summer job to make a little extra money. And then a couple of articles after that, I mentioned that I didn't get the job I was looking into and said that I wasn't going to be looking into others. But, I take that back. Just the other day, I was hired by the Haagen Dazs at my local mall and completed the mandatory training. In fact, I'll be starting my first ever shift there this weekend!

My plans have changed yet again, and always for the better. I'm looking forward to finally making a little summer spending money and getting some experience to put on my resume. Working at an ice cream location within the mall means that I get plenty. I'll be able to develop my customer service/people skills, as well as learn about retail and food service. While they do not directly correlate to what I want to do in the future, they are skills I feel that people should learn, use, and develop for at least a short period of time in their life.

With this new job, my plans for the summer have changed yet again. But, I'm not too worried. Even if you add in the fact that I volunteer on Tuesdays, I will only be working about three days a week. That leaves three other days for me to spend time with my friends and just relax before things get hectic towards the end of the summer.

However, I wouldn't have gotten this job without the help of a family friend. While she has only been working there for a short time, her sister worked there for a few years before her along with another friend. For as long as I can remember, I can picture visiting them at work, picking out my favorite flavor, and then getting the friends and family discount they have to offer. And since our friend is still working there, I'm excited to get the chance to work a few or more shifts with her.

But, even if I don't work with her that often, I'm interested in meeting new people and learning from them. Having spent a couple of hours with the manager for training, I'm already excited to see what the others are like.

I'm sure that there will never be a shortage of dull moments, even when the store isn't that busy. There is going to be so much to do, people to meet, and ice cream to sample. For now, I'll have to keep an eye out, but I'll be sure to keep everyone updated about how everything works out!

For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
