It's Ok To Take A Heartbreak From Your Life

I think as I have gone about my adult life, I have realized that it moves quickly and sometimes I don't take the time to spend time with myself in the midst of everything that I am involved in with my current classes, organizations, and friends/family. I am quite thankful for the times I get to spend doing other things, but I do have to take a step back some days and just focus on taking good care of myself.

Self-care is not just a thing that should be done on a Sunday, but every day if you allow it. If this means that you are going to be putting on a cucumber face mask while watching To All The Boys I've Loved Before while ordering or making a cheese pizza then so be it. It's so easy to get caught up in the "oh should I be doing this for myself?" and we sometimes doubt ourselves when it comes to the well being of ourselves. I think we just have to trust in ourselves and make time for the little things that are going to help us take the time we need to cooperate.

Writing is something else that I'm able to do on my own to relax at times. I'm able to get across how I'm feeling without others influencing my thoughts. My best times for my writing & creating tend to happen at Starbucks as I'm sipping on a delicious refresher and on my phone on google docs (my go-to app when creating my articles and adding in my thoughts about my life). So if writing is your own little niche, go for it but if its not there are plenty of other creative outlets outside of just writing that you can do in your spare time to relax. Additionally, you could also just watch a movie and have a wine/juice night with yourself if you have cable or a DVD player The place I have been getting my movies recently have been Goodwill, so check your latest store to see what sticker is the sticker of the week for buying your DVDs.

Whoever said that retail therapy isn't actually some form of therapy isn't truly living their best life (just saying). I tend to find boutique shops either in person or mostly online. So I'm able to online shop through my phone if I have my Paypal connected or I usually will create an account through the online boutique because they will usually have some sort of email list or rewards program I can sign up for. I usually will sit in my bed and browse the collections of what I'm looking for and when I'm in person I will usually go to multiple places for shopping and figure out what I'm going to treat myself within each store.

Overall, I think its best to take a break from your busy life and take care of yourself in these ways. It doesn't have to be done exactly in this way, but these are just some things I do to connect with myself so I can get back on track in my life if needed.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.

Top 10 Reasons My School Rocks!

Why I Chose a Small School Over a Big University.

I was asked so many times why I wanted to go to a small school when a big university is so much better. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure a big university is great but I absolutely love going to a small school. I know that I miss out on big sporting events and having people actually know where it is. I can't even count how many times I've been asked where it is and I know they won't know so I just say "somewhere in the middle of Wisconsin." But, I get to know most people at my school and I know my professors very well. Not to mention, being able to walk to the other side of campus in 5 minutes at a casual walking pace. I am so happy I made the decision to go to school where I did. I love my school and these are just a few reasons why.
