7 TipsTo Have Both Healthy And Tan Skin This Summer

So when it comes to having healthy and tan skin during the summer, here are my first few tips:

1. Use sunscreen.

It is so important to wear sunscreen. It has tons of benefits including helping protect your skin from sun spots, preventing wrinkles, keeping an even complexion, postponing skin aging, and keeping away harmful UV rays that can cause cancer.

2. Moisturize your skin.

This is something that you shouldn't skip out doing because it will help you to keep your tan longer as well it is important to keep your skin hydrated so it doesn't peel, flake, or get ashy. Moisturizers and lotions work best when applied after you have gotten wet when your skin is still a bit moist. You want to pat dry off your skin with a towel and then apply your lotion in an upward direction so that you are not pulling down on your skin.

3. Shave carefully.

It is important to be gentle with your skin and to not cut or nick yourself in the shower because it may cause scars and an uneven skin complexion.

4. Eat healthy.

Your skin and body will thank you when you eat healthy. In the summer, I find that I want to eat lighter because the heat of the sun can really wear you down. (Except for the ice cream!) Additionally, many fruits and vegetables have many benefits leading to better skin.

5. If you do get burned, apply Aloe Vera.

If you get burnt this summer, it can help to apply Aloe Vera to the burn. Especially if it stings, this will help the pain go away and will feel nice and cool against your skin.

6. Stay stress free.

Stress and anxiety are so bad for your health and can even impact your skincare. If you form the habit of not managing your stress, it can cause an imbalance of your hormones, which makes it easy for your skin to break out.

7. For the girls that don't tan, use self-tanner!

I'm not one to do this in the summer because I get tan easily but, if you have trouble tanning, then this is a great solution. I have used self-tanner before and it is just important that you follow the instructions carefully so you don't look orange or streaky! However, it is something that I would recommend and that has worked out well for me in the past so you can get some color!

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

I can't say "thank you" enough to express how grateful I am for you coming into my life. You have made such a huge impact on my life. I would not be the person I am today without you and I know that you will keep inspiring me to become an even better version of myself.

Course registration at college can be a big hassle and is almost never talked about. Classes you want to take fill up before you get a chance to register. You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.

Ever since I could remember, it was a treat to receive Easter Bread made by my grandmother. We would only have it once a year and the wait was excruciating. Now that my grandmother has gotten older, she has stopped baking a lot of her recipes that require a lot of hand usage--her traditional Italian baking means no machines. So for the past few years, I have missed enjoying my Easter Bread.
