5 Tips For A Happy And Healthy Summer

In This Article:

Summer is hands down the best season of them all; it's warm, school's out, and you can spend more time outside than ever. That also means you'll probably be in a bathing suit most of the time. Here are five ways to stay healthy and happy during summer 2018!

1. Load up on fruit

Summer is the season of fruit, so it's the best time to get your fill. Plus, it's a great snack that's super good for you and a healthy alternative for sugary desserts. You can even add a little whipped cream to make it sweeter!

2. Go for a walk outside

Going for a walk or run in the summer is the best because the weather is usually beautiful and it's a great way to stay active. Take a friend, or your dog, along for the walk with you for a little extra company.

3. Try some healthy alternatives to desserts

There are a bunch of healthy versions of classic desserts that honestly taste pretty good and are good for you. For example, try cutting up and freezing a banana overnight and then blend it up with some mix-in's of your choice for a healthy ice cream. Or, if you don't want to do the work, buy a healthier version of ice cream, like Halo Top.

4. Go swimming

Swimming is a great way to burn calories and stay active in the summer. If you have a pool, use it! If not, you can always go to a friend's house or a community pool.

5. Just hang out in the sun (wearing sunscreen, of course)

Spending time outside in the sun is necessary for our bodies to produce vitamin D, which a lot of people may be deficient of. Also, natural light has been shown to be good for fighting winter depression. Just remember to always protect your skin with sunscreen!

Hopefully these simple tips will help you make this summer the best one yet!
